GAC GS4 MAX HEV Battery: Used-Car Evidence Checklist

GAC’s August 2026 Philippines GS4 MAX HEV announcement identifies a 2.1 kWh NCM hybrid battery. This is regional specification context, not a health result or proof of China inventory. For an actual new or used HEV offer, identify the fitted system and obtain appropriate evidence for the buyer’s acceptance.

01

Identify the HEV rather than relying on the badge

Request the original model designation, production and source-market information, plus applicable hybrid-system records. Keep these with the vehicle reference. An electrified description can refer to a different application from the HEV the buyer expects, and a similar-looking petrol candidate should not be accepted silently as the same specification.

The GS4 powertrain overview records the regional HEV announcement and the need for sourcing confirmation. The published battery capacity describes that reference product; it does not establish usable energy, installed identity or present condition on every offer. If replacement work is disclosed, have the responsible provider identify the actual fitted component before discussing assessment or support.

02

Ask what a supplied battery result means

Request the assessment date, vehicle reference and method behind any diagnostic or health number. Ask the provider to explain what it measures and what was not examined. A precise-looking percentage without that context can be difficult to interpret. Keep original reports where available instead of relying only on a rewritten seller summary.

A charge-level display, a fault scan and a capacity assessment answer different questions. Do not rank two cars on unexplained numbers or label a normal display as a complete battery certificate. The buyer should be able to see which conclusions are supported by the particular method and which require further assessment on the actual candidate.

03

Review history alongside physical findings

Collect available records of battery-related repair, replacement and concerns involving cooling or other hybrid components. Match them with current findings. Missing paperwork should remain a history gap, not become a statement that no work occurred. An invoice description also needs enough detail to distinguish nearby or related work from a complete battery replacement.

Qualified personnel should choose the appropriate inspection and access method. Do not ask an unqualified seller to open electrical equipment for a purchasing video. Keep any damage, warning or restricted access in the vehicle inspection record. A clean enclosure photograph cannot establish every internal condition or explain the cause of a reported concern.

04

Interpret operating observations within their limits

A suitable observation can document the vehicle’s behaviour during that assessment. Record its conditions, relevant warnings and any limitation. Normal operation over one short route cannot establish every future outcome or eliminate intermittent concerns. Have the appropriate provider interpret a complaint rather than diagnosing a battery fault from a single fuel-consumption or dashboard observation.

The HEV purchase-premium worksheet uses clearly stated fuel and cost assumptions for the commercial comparison. Keep that calculation separate from technical condition. A small measured fuel figure does not establish battery health, while a favourable battery report does not certify the engine, gearbox, brakes or body. Each part of the offer needs its relevant evidence.

05

Attribute repair and warranty proposals precisely

If work is recommended, request the diagnosed scope, applicable component, labour and completion checks from the responsible provider. Identify any proposed replacement’s status and support terms. A universal pack-only price or another market’s advertised coverage cannot establish the complete installed cost or accepted claim for the particular buyer.

Use the warranty after export review to ask which party makes a commitment and where it applies. Keep the Philippines announcement’s domestic terms within their regional context. If support or reimbursement remains unconfirmed, show that dependency before acceptance. Do not turn a manufacturer reference into a promise that all future battery costs will be covered overseas.

06

Retain the accepted HEV evidence at handover

Record the system identity, reviewed reports, completed preparation and remaining limits against the individual car. For new stock, focus on correct status, disclosed preparation and agreed pre-delivery results. For a used candidate, add the history and assessment described above. A different unit proposed later needs its own relevant review.

The destination-support plan identifies the provider and scope the buyer can actually rely on. Keep those details in the handover file rather than treating general brand familiarity as proof of specialist capability. A traceable acceptance record lets the receiving dealer explain the particular HEV’s established specification and condition without promising universal health, range, sourcing availability or regional warranty transfer.
